About the project...

The proposed digital learning object is the development of an Educational Repository (ER), in this case, an educational website with the objective of teaching the English language. For this, the site was developed using the Wix.com tool, which provides an attractive layout and can be composed with several links to store different activities and different types of resources, such as video from the Ted Ed platform, videos from  Youtube with audios in English, reading of images and the like, which focus on significant themes such as the possibility of interaction and student involvement for the appropriation of content.

 

In line with the ideas of Liberali (2015) , this study aims to highlight the educational potential of RE designed for the context of public education and promote the de-encapsulation of teaching by proposing extracurricular activities that are close to the student's context. This Educational Repository - site - also offers hyperlinks that allow users to understand and research the references that support the study.                                                            

With this, seeking activities that are reflective within the Conceptual Axis (LEITE, 2018) and that develop discourse as a social practice, will enable the learning of the English language in a dynamic and reflective way. Associated with this purpose, the teaching and use of technology tend to promote the development of digital literacy based on thematic activities aimed at seventh grade students (objective of the study) but also viable  to the other grades. In this way, the study is guided by the documents that guide basic education (BNCC, 2017).

Purpose of the website...

I am a public school teacher and I realize that the teaching of the English language is far from the reality of the students, making it often uninteresting to learning. With the objective of bringing language teaching closer to the context outside the classroom, I seek to idealize my desires and my learning to the realization of this project - Educational Site.

As a student of the Professional Master's Degree in Modern Foreign Languages - MEPLEM - linked to the State University of Londrina (UEL) and under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Samantha Ramos , I come through this site to propose complementary activities so that students can develop critical thinking mediated by the teacher.

 

This educational repository aims to enable the development of activities with a focus on the student as the protagonist of their own learning, with the teacher as a mediator. Public schools in the State of Paraná form the intended context.

And I take this opportunity to thank immensely for all the educational contribution of my supervisor Profª. Dr. Samantha Ramos , who introduced me, in her classes, to the great demand for digital resources, which we can transform into Digital Learning Objects (OAD) and that enrich the teaching-learning process. I cannot fail to mention all the learning I received from Professors Valdirene Zorzo-Veloso, Michelle El Kadri, Fernanda Brener and Denise IBG Ortenzi. My THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Information

I am a teacher of basic education in the State of Paraná. I have been teaching English and Portuguese since 2005. I work with students from the 6th year of Elementary School II to the 3rd year of High School. I always seek to promote  and bring teaching closer to the reality of the school context. And with the influence of technology on students' lives, we must also associate it to the teaching-learning process. In this way, I was presenting the active methodologies during the teaching of the English language. And, with the desire to improve my knowledge and with the ideal of acquiring new methodologies and seeking new challenges, I ventured to return to my studies seeking a Master's qualification. Thus, I am a student of the Professional Master's Degree in Modern Foreign Languages - Meplem - linked to the State University of Londrina (UEL) and I propose this teaching prototype as an educational product.
